Here it is:
Now, there are definite benefits to living in a loft. Gorgeous, HUGE windows, exposed brick walls, 15' ceilings, open ductwork, beautiful reclaimed knotty-pine floors, open floorplan, laundry in-unit, etc. However, there are some drawbacks. Usually, these lofts are in industrial areas of the city, which often lend themselves to being in bad neighborhoods. Often, there is no place to go and enjoy being outdoors. If I wanted to go for a leisurely walk, I would first have to get in my car, and drive somewhere to do so. These are just a few of the reasons I've decided to move.
Meet my new apartment:
A period home built in 1809, located in quaint Warren, Rhode Island. Not only will I be a block from the water, but this apartment has charming detail. Mantles in three rooms- kitchen, bedroom, living, beautiful crown molding, clawfoot bathtub, painted pine flooring, etc. And, the best part is- I can walk out my front door and stroll around the neighborhood looking at other historic homes in the area. Not to mention, two of my best friends live within walking distance as well. Thing I'm most looking forward to-waking up on Sunday morning, taking a walk to Main Street, and having a coffee at the local Coffee Depot.
So, the big move is this Sunday. I can't WAIT to share with you all the design elements I will incorporate in this new place! Until then, I'll leave you with a picture of the mess that has become my life this past month......

Gretchen, it's beautiful! You and your mom are going to have such a GREAT time decorating and furnishing it! Enjoy your time off and your new place! I love you. :) Jean

Gretchy - so excited for you!! Good luck with the move - have fun with your Momma! I will miss the 'Rising Sun Mills' sign the most - that was the my favorite! But Warren suits you so much better and I am so ecstatic to see what your new place looks like and how it's decorated! Good luck and love ya bunches!
